Selecting Chigwell Construction Services as our Builder for our house renovation was the best choice we made in the entire project. We decided to add a rear extension, front porch and do a complete overhaul of the original house including new floors, windows and internal and external insulation. These guys were amazing throughout, super friendly, helpful and hardworking. When things went wrong (mostly with other contractors not turning up or doing a bad job) they were incredibly understanding, supportive and willing to pick up where others failed. They offered advice when needed, but were always happy to do whatever we wanted to make our vision a reality. You will not regret using these Builders and I will certainly be using them again.

Ed and team worked on our house for about a year on 3 medium/big projects: a bathroom renovation, a loft conversion and a rear extension (planning and design included for the latter 2). The craftmanship is fantastic - 2 months in and we haven't had to call them back for any snags. Most of the time Ed spotted and fixed it before we even noticed. We work with a lot of tradesmen over the year, and his team is probably the best we come across, both in skills and attitude. Communication is also excellent (rare in this industry, and one of the main reasons we gave them all 3 jobs). We got photo updates every day and clear communication of milestones throughout, making the whole process a lot less stressful. Will definitely consider using them again for future projects.

Living room needed full makeover, including removing Artex, replastering, painting, new electrical points, installing engineered wood flooring and installing a new radiator. We had our bathroom fully refurbished, we also got the loft sorted, (knocked down chimney, new roof tiles, windows, insulated, boarded up, reinforced flooring, new loft ladder, lights and electric points & radiator). We can now use the loft as a hobby room and is the warmest room in the house! And every time I step into my bathroom I feel like I’m in a spa! Excellent finish on both jobs and will not hesitate to use Chigwell construction for all future jobs. Eddie and his team (Adrian & Mario) were very friendly, consulted myself about the details, they respected our home and made sure our pets did not escape. They cleaned up every day and the one occasion where we had some heating issues, they came back and fixed it even though I said it could be fixed in the morning. A few touch ups needed to be done a couple of weeks later and there was no hesitation, his team came round and got the little jobs done to finish of the project. Extremely happy with their service and I would highly recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of working with CCS early this year to renovate ground floor washroom and toilet facilities for an elderly couple with limited mobility. Key highlights included; 1 project manager as main point of contact who stayed with the project from start to finish, and was on hand almost 24/7 to help with any queries and to advise on appropriate materials, fixtures, and fittings; a competent team who covered all disciplines of building work and who worked together to solve on the job problems; high quality of workmanship and a constant check that work was being executed in the right way; and post build support where any issues (not many) were assessed within 24 hours and resolved as soon as possible. This is one of the best experiences that I have had working with a building company and I would definitely work with CCS again.
I was tense when I had this started as I have redone my toilet twice before (Yes! Previous builders and contractors were well referred) But I'm so pleased with the overall experience and end work, I can't recommend them highly enough! This is the first time I used Eddie and his team to fix a timber structural problem with my garden studio. We had an emergency situation yesterday and Eddie came to our rescue. Words cannot describe how grateful we are for Eddie’s and his colleague’s efforts to sort out this crisis for us. We booked an appliance engineer to repair our oven. He came yesterday afternoon and looked at the oven fuse and concluded that this was faulty/not working and that it needed changing. He gave me “the good news” that there was nothing wrong with the oven. To prove this he tried to make an improvisation by putting wire around the fuse. By doing this he burnt the mains fuse and left me without electricity in the whole house, on a Thursday afternoon, before Bank holiday. When I called Eddie he promptly responded and made himself available even though he was at a considerable distance from my house. He not only resolved the mains but also looked at the oven problem and very quickly identified what the real problem was. We are very pleased with his work and highly recommend for any job you may have!

I had numerous electrical jobs that needed doing around the home and I am glad I found Eddie on Yell to sort it out. The jobs included the followings: 1. Replacement of broken PIR security light at the front of the house 2. Installing a PIR sensor so that the porch lights come on when someone come to the door 3. Installing 4 new PIR security lights in the garden 4. Install new lighting and a garden socket for a covered decking area 5. Repairing the broken plug socket supplying the washing machine and dishwasher 6. Repairing the kitchen spotlights that were flickering 7. Installing a PIR light and new sockets for the cupboard under the stairs 8. Replacing 4 ceilings lights in the living and dinning rooms 9. Installing a PIR light in the hallway 10. Replacing the ceiling light in the bathroom Eddie and his team did a great job & everything work as expected. I cheekily asked Eddie to carry out jobs 8 - 10 even though it was not in the original quote & he was happy to do it!
We found Eddie via yellow pages as our electricity shut down completely one Saturday night (leaving fridge, freezer not working!). He came on Sunday morning, very shortly after the phone call, and checked all around the house very quickly. He determined the problem fast (it was our dish washer causing the shortcuts) and gave us good advice how to continue to solve this issue. As we didn’t notice - one socket was disconnected, and therefore not working – we called back to ask about it and he came straight back, to find out first what it was, then fixing it – this was totally our fault, but Eddie stayed friendly and polite. He seemed to be very skilled in his job. He also gave us a reasonable price. Therefore I would recommend Eddie to anyone who has problems with their electricity, even in not very friendly hours of the day or week!
Eddie came the evening of my call. Assessed the issue that I had. Needed new fuse box & wire upgrade from Meter to fuse box. ( Requirements for Smart Meter) & Shower not working, I thought it just needed a replacement fuse for the pull cord switch. How wrong was I. Eddie & his colleague came on the Saturday of that week. They were able to move the meter which allowed the new fuse box to sit in the same cupboard out of sight. The Shower & pull cord switch had major issues, the switch hand arced causing one of the wires to burn out. Likewise the shower had a similar problem. Thanks to Eddie's patience I was able to purchase a new shower & switch. Which they installed the same day. Once again, Thank you!
Called in for a normal house electric check, Jason quickly identified few problems and recommend necessary work at a decent quote. He went beyond normal duty to fix each problem without any complaints. Following this good work, called in again to get the lights fitted outside, again top job. He supplied and fitted promptly explaining each step of his work. Would definitely use Chigwell Electricals again. Recommended.

We had our interior wall damp proofed with new skirting and windowsill put in, and the entire outside re-rendered and it looks fantastic. Really happy. They provided a complete strip out, and refurb of a bathroom. The flat is 120 years old, and a 4th floor walk up; the job was therefore more complicated, and more physically demanding than most, but they did exemplary work without complaint. They were able to adapt the original design to the unique challenges of the buildings Victorian plumbing, and electrics. Special mention to the guy who worked tirelessly, and did an impeccable job on the tiling. 10/10 can't recommend highly enough.

Eddie and team carried out a total bedroom renovation which included ceiling/electrics/flooring etc. I also had some space in loft boarded up and insulated. Eddie was very transparent with costs and provided advice about the project. The team also managed to fix my shower room which had a leak and caused damages to tiles. The team knew exactly what to do and the whole job was completed to a very high standard without any stress. I would definitely recommend this company for anyone considering building or renovation work.

Having experienced disastrous consequences from ‘rogue traders’ I was reluctant to appoint anyone to carry out vital remedial work on my property. However, Chigwell Construction Services Ltd were renovating my neighbour’s property. I witnessed how professional, efficient and reliable they were. I approached a member of the team to discuss my requirements & agreed work to commence in December. Due to the nature of these renovations, ‘Building Control’ were involved, Eddie took full responsibility for this aspect. The work is now complete and am delighted with the result. I approached Eddie and his team to carry out repairs and remedial work on my mother's kitchen roof and ceiling which had collapsed after a previous contractor had done an inadequate job. I would highly recommend this company. The work was finished to an even higher finish that I anticipated. Two minor snags were immediately remedied by members of the team. There was clear and consistent communication via regular updates in a group message application as I don't live in the area. Eddie and the team were fantastic. The job was to repair a boundary wall, cracks in building walls, repair paving stones and generally make the front of our shared house safe and look good. From very early on Eddie was brilliant. He understood the budget challenge and the fact I needed to agree everything with my neighbour who we co own the building with. He helped throughout, communicating constantly by WhatsApp and then making sure we agreed any changes in scope to a fair price as we found more issues. His guys were fantastic. Hardworking, respectful and delivering to a really high quality. Overall the outcome was better than I was hoping for and I really appreciate everything they did. Would not hesitate to use Eddie and the Chigwell team again.
I’m very happy with the bathroom upgrade that was done. The wall and floor tiling looks very nice. I’m pleased with work done to the shower and to install a new extractor fan and water tank. The new bathroom door is great. Using the bathroom now has been very good. My friends and relatives like the work that was done.
